Welcome to the Reading Centre of the National Trust

The Reading Centre is one of around 250 local groups that support the work of the National Trust. We aim to add something extra to your membership of the National Trust.

The Reading Centre is very active with a varied programme of visits, talks, social events and holidays. Some activities include visits or reference to National Trust properties, many will not. They are all organised by volunteers who have the ethos of the National Trust at their heart. Through these activities, funds are raised which are donated to National Trust properties and members have an enjoyable time with like-minded people.

This season’s activities are listed in the sections below. If you are already a member of the Reading Centre, more details of these activities are given in the Members Area. If you are a National Trust member or volunteer and interested, we would like to welcome you into our friendly and active group.

Talks

1

Join as a member

Reading Centre membership is open to everyone who is a member or volunteer with the National Trust. Click below to join now online.

2

Choose your events

Our Day Trips and Events are announced in the Summer and Winter newsletters, each having a six month programme. We accept both online and postal applications before the season’s specified closing date.

3

Event allocation

Once the application closing date has passed, places are allocated to members. If events are oversubscribed, places are allocated according to a tried and trusted scheme to make it fair for everybody.

Place allocations – how does it work?

With the exception of talks which are open to the general public, applications for places to our events are only open to members of the Reading Centre of the National Trust.
